Sage Plant Based Bistro is and Brewery Echo Park is one of several locations in Southern California. Although it is not entirely vegan cuisine, it is 100% planet based and organic. The produce is part of an annual agricultural output from local California farmers. Year-round plant commodities are cultivated at these farms numbering in the hundreds making it the largest annual agricultural output in the nation. They have been so for over 50 years now. Alice Waters and other farmers started pioneering this local organic produce of Chez Panisse calling it the “farm to table movement” and rooted right here in California. Mollie Engelhart is Sage’s founder and was raised as vegan. She was raised on a farm in Upstate New York. In addition to here upbringing, she remains as passionate about animals and the environment as she does farming, foodscaping, gardening, and cooking. Sage Plant Based Bistro’s menu contains food cooked with only best produce cultivated on local California farms. All of their cuisine is organic and pesticide free and they pride themselves based on this knowledge. Sage’s menu changes seasonally so they always have the freshest local ingredients available.
